Senior Research Engineer - Ref code: NOC-SRE

Wyith Incorporated seeks qualified applicants for the positions of Research Engineer. The position's missions are to develop suites of highly adaptive WAN-based interfacing applications on Linux/Unix platforms.

Job Description

The Research Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of system hardware and software interfacing programs, hardware components, non-standard network layer-based algorithms, remote user-interfaces, as well as trouble-shooting of wide area information networks. As Research Engineer, your duties will entail supporting seniors on project management from follow through to implementation, liase with clients' MIS/EDP staff and monitor assigned responsibilities closely while managing a variety of multiple projects simultaneously. The Research Engineer position may require occasional travel through China.

Applicants with less experience will be considered for the positions of Assistant Research Engineer.

Position requirements - Research Engineer

Master's degree in Computer/Electronic Engineering
Experience in Java/C/C++/PHP/Perl/SQL development
Knowledge in TCP/IP protocol a must
2 years of Linux/Unix system-level experience
Amateur radio license holder (Full/Restricted License) a merit

Position requirements - Assistant Research Engineer

Degree/Higher Diploma in Computer/Electronic Engineering
Linux programming fundamentals with Perl
Basic hardware interfacing knowledge using communication ports
Knowledge in wireless and radio engineering
Minor in Psychology, Applied Psychology or a behavioural subject a plus
Familiar with windows platforms, IBM Lotus WordPro, IBM Lotus 123
Familiar with basic UNIX user-level programs, e.g. pine, tin, etc.
Good written English a definite merit
