Melbourne IT International
The highly sought-after expert
Mr Flory is the former President of Melbourne IT International, a
subsidiary of The University of Melbourne. While with MIT he was in charge of
Internet Names Worldwide, the largest domain registrar in the Asia Pacific.
Mr Flory joined Melbourne IT in 1997 with the brief to take charge of the com.au
Internet name registration bureau and build a world-class international
business in Internet domain names and related services.
In recognition of his role in Internet name registration in Australia,
Mr Flory was invited by the Australian Government to be one of Australia's
representatives at a series of international forums which debate the future
structure and function of the Internet domain name system.
Before joining Melbourne IT, Mr Flory was a highly sought after IT consultant,
specialising in aligning information technology processes and infrastructure
with business goals. Prior to consulting, he spent more than 15 years as a
successful developer, publisher and marketer of software products, exporting these
products around the world. He is a founding member of the Australian Software
Publishers Association and a member of the Internet Society of Australia.
Mr Flory joined the company as Advisor and Non-Executive Director in July 2000.
