Wyith announces WAP-transition plans

Hongkong - June 12, 2000 - Wyith Incorporated, a top
e-business solutions provider in Asia, today
announces its functional 'WAP-transition plans' for corporate customers.
The transition plan will bring selected corporate customers
to have their web servers WAP-enabled for all WAP 1.1 compliant
mobile phones.
This offering will also guarentee to extend the range
of WAP services to users of WAP phones from multiple
vendors including the Nokia 7110, Motorola Timeport P7389 and Ericsson R320.
The Wyith WAP-transition service is a Linux interface that enables companies
to provide mobile access to electronic mail and other services
available on the Internet and private Intranets as well as other
information systems. The server will act as a powerful WAP gateway supporting
WAP v1.1 applications and content.
The beta test version includes support for WML Script, HTTP cookies,
and optional encryption security using WTLS, as well as support
for numerous WAP devices, including the Nokia 7110, Ericsson
R320 and Motorola Timeport P7389.
"Our previous experience in the systems programming and enterprise server
design market has shown us that corporate users have diverse tastes,"
said Dr Raymond Cheng, Managing Director of Wyith Incorporated. "As more WAP
content, services, and WAP devices become available, cross platform support
will become the critical issue. Wyith intends to extend support to any WAP
compatible device, as is evident by this beta release."
"We do not manufacture and therefore do not sell WAP phones, so we have
to be open minded." Dr Cheng continued. With consumer demand for
compatibility paramount and no clear leader in the device market,
Wyith Incorporated is positioned to provide the WAP user with a consistent
experience, regardless of the device they choose to deploy."
"We have phones from multiple manufacturers within our domain
registration service subscriber base." he added. "And therefore to
start with, Wyith will first deploy WAP functionalities to
InterNIC 2000 customers, allowing corporate users to register domain
names via WAP-enabled phones."
The Wyith WAP-transition plan is expected to be officially launched
to corporate clients in early July and the first 'WAPsite' will be
available in early September 2000.
